Our Offerings

Right Use of Power Workshops, Trainings, and books aim to inspire
and engage helping professionals in developing and refining personal
awareness and sensitivity as well as skills and attitudes that will
increase your ability to use both your personal and your role power
and influence in the service of the best interests of your clients.
Workshops are approved for professional continuing education credits
by many organizations.
WORKSHOP AND TRAINING PRESENTED BY CEDAR BARSTOW, M.Ed., C.H.T.,
Hakomi Trainer and Therapist, and founder and director of
the Right Use of Power approach.
Workshop
This is a one to four day experience for people of all
helping professions. Empowering, relevant and dynamic, this program
is presented through talks, discussions, and experiential
practices. Depending upon the length, it covers topics
such as: the power spiral, power differential, power parameters,
power styles, ethical decision-making, personal power, impact and
intention, resolving difficulties, grievance processes, self-care, dual
role relationships, statistics, shame, boundaries, feedback, challenges,
soul work and world service, power dynamics.
Facilitator’s
Training
This is
a two to four day training for those who wish to present Right
Use of Power programs to others. Participation in a workshop
is a pre-requisite for the Facilitator’s program. Using
the comprehensive and user-friendly Teacher’s Resource
Manual, we cover topics such as: use of available resources;
leadership styles; designing, teaching, and evaluating skills;
advanced topics; group management; feedback; and marketing.
Upon completion
of both the workshop and the facilitator’s training, you
will be
able to adapt and use the material to present your own workshops
to whatever focus
groups interest you. You will also be eligible to join the Right
Use of Power Facilitator’s Guild and be networked through
the website and administrative office.

Personally
trained by Cedar Barstow, members of the Right Use of Power Teacher’s
Guild are independent facilitator’s who teach Right Use
of Power workshops around the world. They have adapted this approach
to fit their personal interests and thus offer programs especially
designed for specific groups such as massage therapists, coaches,
clergy, nurses, women, personal growth, social workers, psychotherapists,
